Today is International Women’s Day. 

A day to acknowledge the role of women in society, reflect on their achievements and work towards a better future. 

Women are at the heart of La Basketry - they are the reason we started this business and the reason we are still running it today a year later. 

The community of basket weavers we are lucky to be working with, are all women - providing for their family and working towards a better life. 

Most of our customers are female, I even have stats to back this up - 85% according to Google Analytics and Instagram Insights.

So what makes me really happy today is women openly supporting and lifting each other up. 

All the women who are helping us on our mission to shine light on Senegalese crafts, provide more job opportunities in rural part of Senegal and support craftsmanship.
